Christmas presents!

Prismacolor coloured pencils on black matboard. These were Christmas presents. :) The colours are much more vibrant in person! I need to learn how to take photos of my work to show the right contrast and colour...

Drawing of someone's dog from a draw!

This is a digital painting I did of someone's dog of a free draw I did on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ArtOfDe). It helped me study how to paint long fur and I really enjoyed the process. :)

De is still existing!

Hello all! Again I'd like to remind you I haven't disappeared for good! I was going through a loss in the family, but I'm bouncing back up again and I'm hoping to start taking commissions starting in 2013! I'm going to start advertising past Facebook (in the "Real World" even) by posting up posters and maybe getting a spot in the local paper. From what I heard, the best way of getting people to know your work is "word of mouth". :)

Digital Painting

The pricing for digital painting depends on the size and type of print. There are different substrates to print on (such as canvas, photo paper, etc) and each of them are priced differently too. For digital paintings, please give me the size of the print, type of substrate, and what is to be painted. Before I begin painting, I will give you a quote.

Wet Media

This will be offered in the near future! I have to practice my techniques with wet mediums (such as watercolour and acrylic). I will be posting examples of work I do as well.

I specialize in drawing dragons, animals, people, and anime/manga style. I will be offering workshops as well as original art (non-commissioned) in the near future. Please keep an eye out for future posts! :)

*I'm open for commissions!*

Painting Course With Frank Haddock!

I was very lucky to take a beginner acrylic course with a wonderful painter from Edmonton, Frank Haddock! It was a full class of 13 keen artists and everyone did very well! I'm just posting two pictures (I have more, but I rather not show all of the steps...take his workshop if you have the chance!)....
We actually used only three colours (and some white)...red, yellow and blue! I had to make my own black (reminds me of the time in colour theory class at ACAD) I had a lot of fun...I'm probably going to paint even more! :)

De Art's Studio...Art Studio!!!!

Hello all!

Just posting updates for my Art Studio! I'm pretty excited to say it's 90% complete! (the other 10% is for extra things such as something to hold my large 20x30 papers, finding out what to do with my large illustration board...etc). I'm going to work on some artwork shortly I add some music to my ipod! (still haven't added my Shinedown new album yet...it's so good!)

SO MANY TY BEANIE BABIES!!!

I looove my floaty shelves!

I put the vinyl on the dresser myself and drilled holes for the handles! *beam*
My degree is FINALLY hanging on my wall!!!!

I loooove my drafting table! <3>

Ty Beanie Babies stuffed in the green hangy thing...<3>

Ikea Expedit's are the bestest! I added vinyl and paint to the shelves on the
bookcases...turned out great!

I'm still alive! :)

I've been slowly but surely getting back into the business of drawing. I'm setting up my art studio at the moment...but I'm hoping to start getting back into traditional art mediums (rather than digital). I should be able to work on art very soon!

Unfortunately last month, we had to put a family pet down. In spur of the moment, I decided to digitally paint a picture of Trixie, who was a wonderful black lab (passed at the age of 13). I liked the piece so much I decided to get it printed out on canvas and get it framed. I gave it to my boyfriend's parents as a gift...they loved it.

Here's the digital painting of it:

Here's a picture of the print:

It's better when you see in real life (picture doesn't do it justice!)

Anyhoo...I'm planning to do a couple of drawing courses next month in Jasper...pretty stoked! :)

I'm drawing again!

I am updating my "latest" pieces of art on here for now...until I get a new website. I probably won't update my main website due to the fact I don't know HTML and it's due for payment...and it's a bit expensive...(which is too bad because it is a pretty nice site). Here they are:
I did another portrait of Emmi...but it's being used in a traveling art exhibit (called "The Best of the Fest"...it won an award in YRAF this year).
Here's a picture of my tentative business card:
I'm not much of a designer versus the skills I have in drawing...so it was a little tough for me to decide what colours and placements...etc etc.
I'll be at the Artisan Market this Sunday (June 17th) at the Galloway Museum in town if anyone wants to stop by and say hello. :)
